Climate Assessments

Interwoven Insights positions its partners, through quantitative and qualitative data, to uncover patterns, draw integrated conclusions, and add critical nuance to organizational climate issues. We measure organizational climates using instruments and methods grounded in the research literature and informed by practice.

Our climate assessments include:

  • General Climate Surveys. Comprehensive assessments that examine the overall organizational environment, workplace culture, and employee and student experiences.
  • Title IX Climate Surveys. Specialized assessments measure campus climate as it relates to sexual misconduct, gender-based discrimination, and Title IX compliance.
  • Title VI Climate Surveys. Targeted assessments evaluating experiences related to discrimination based on race, color, ancestry, and national origin.
  • Pulse Surveys. Quick, focused assessments that capture real-time sentiments and track changes between comprehensive climate studies.
  • Customized Research. Tailored instruments developed specifically for your unique needs and strategic priorities.

Quantitative Climate Assessments

An integral step to understanding organizational climate is through quantifying people’s experiences, behaviors, perceptions and knowledge. Quantitative data can produce a range of actionable findings, from detailed snapshots to nuanced trends across time, depending on the project methodology. Each survey we implement is expertly assembled and adapted using well-validated and reliable measures available from the research literature, maintained in our extensive database.

Qualitative Climate Assessments

Qualitative data assists our researchers and partners in moving toward the heart of challenges while adding critical nuance to otherwise broad and abstract organizational climate issues. Our qualitative research provides valuable, unique perspectives to identify concrete solutions for organizational growth. For example, prevention or intervention strategies, communication approaches, or strategic planning steps. We employ a variety of qualitative data collection and analysis techniques, including semi-structured interviews, focus groups, and archival analysis that may include participatory action research involving organizational stakeholders in the data collection and analysis process.

Mixed Methods Climate Assessments

Mixed methods research requires specialized skills incorporating qualitative and quantitative traditions in a dynamic way to illuminate the scope of organizational climate issues. We help develop tailored approaches to mixed methods research on a case-by-case basis, which may include:

  • Embedded designs with a mixture of quantitative and open-ended qualitative items
  • Sequential designs to inform and implementation strategy for large-scale quantitative surveys
  • Sequential designs to explain key survey results

“When the Texas A&M School of Law decided to conduct its first ever climate survey we sought expert help. Dr. Rankin’s step-by-step guidance through the months-long process of designing and implementing the survey and interpreting the results has been invaluable.”
